Loss of assets may imply a deterioration of the households' possibility to face a future shock and an increase their level of vulnerability. Total of assets owned by a household are also a proxy for its level of wealth. |

Measure Notes: | Baseline: Level of asset losses households endured due to the crises Progress: Has the pre-crises level been re-established. Examples: Number of assets by HHs before and after the shock. Average assets' ownership disaggregated by geographical area or by livelihood or by food security group. Watch Out For! - Ownership of specific livelihood assets (i.e. an animal, a tractor, even a bike) should be used only to compare among them HHs with the same livelihood profile. Indeed the loss of a goat for a pastoralist can be relevant while not so important for a farmer For more details on methodology: Emergency Food Security Assessment Handbook (EFSA) - Second Edition, 2009: http://www.wfp.org/content/emergency-food-security-assessment-handbook |
