| Measure Notes: | > Average TLU per household relative to baseline > Average herd composition (proportion and Number by type of animals) relative to baseline - Needs to consider potential changes in seasonal availability of animals , needs to measure overall change. - Tropical Livestock Units are livestock numbers converted to a common unit (in 2005). Conversion factors are: cattle = 0.7, sheep = 0.1, goats = 0.1, pigs = 0.2, chicken = 0.01. - Needs to consider natural change of TLUs (e.g. animal birth and death rate) and initiated changes (e.g. destocking/off-take and restocking activities) - Proportional piling/ranking are useful methods to assess changes in herd composition. - Needs to consider linkages with household asset composition |
