Description:

Hunger Gap 2: number of days food stocks will last (compare to data on next expected harvest.) A means of assessing the food security of a specific household, as well as comparing spatially and temporally. Unless they have access to other sources of income HHs will need to resort to potentially negative coping strategies if food stocks are not enough to last until harvest.

If asking households on the number of months they do not have food, need to be very clear on the distinction between having no food available and not having the preferred staple available as these are recording two very different issues. If we ask for opinions, rather than utilizing actual measurements, the results may be over or under estimated. Household food stocks, data of next harvest, size of HH. Household Survey.
