| Measure Notes: | > MUAC of all children under 5 years of age within the benefiting household > Cut off levels: At risk: MUAC 13-12.5 cm; Moderate: MUAC 11-12.5 cm; Severe: MUAC < 11.0 cm - Measurement of the MUAC needs close collaboration and training with the Nutrition team, and a MUAC tape for measurement taking. See annex (Annex 31) for guidance sheet. - Needs to consider seasonality as MUAC might change with pre- and post-harvest season. - The MUAC is not used to measure the prevalence of acute malnutrition in the household. The MUAC is used to establish the change of nutritional status of the particular child, and hence is an individual measurement of nutritionals status which can be applied in any context. It is then compared to before and after the intervention with the purpose of measuring positive impact on individual nutritional status. - Needs to be monitored for all FSL project. |
