Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) Case Study: Livelihoods Preparedness in Namibia
Namibia is one of the seven countries that are mostly affected by recurring flood and drought disasters in southern Africa and it is estimated that climate change will affect the Zambezi river basin more severely than any other river system in the world (International Rivers, 2012). Since 2009 the IFRC and seven southern Africa countries collaborate on Disaster Risk Reduction and Building Community Resilience among communities in this region under the Zambezi River Basin Initiative (ZRBI). This cost-benefit analysis (CBA) study of the intervention in Namibia was the first of its type under the ZRBI.
