Good Practice Review (GPR) 11: Cash Transfer Programming in Emergencies - Livelihoods Centre
Asset Publisher
This edition of Good Practice Review synthesises cash transfer guidelines, highlights lessons from evaluations and adds practical examples drawn from experience in the field. It is intended primarily for humanitarian practitioners who plan and implement emergency responses.
This GPR synthesises existing cash transfer guidelines, centralises lessons from research and evaluations and adds practical examples drawn from cash-based interventions. This GPR covers the provision of cash and vouchers to individuals and households in emergencies, protracted crises and recovery contexts.
The different chapters cover Cash transfer programming (CTP) - planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation - and vouchers and Cash for Work issues.
The GPR does not discuss long-term social assistance (except insofar as emergency and recovery programmes may seek to transition into longer-term social protection approaches). Nor does it cover credit, microfinance or micro-insurance programming or cash grants to communities or community-based organisations.
Available in English and Spanish.
