Short description
The RAM is an instrument designed for humanitarian practitioners with limited market expertise and time to develop a rapid and basic understanding of key markets within the first few days after a shock. The results of the RAM should then feed into the initial response options analysis enabling operations teams to make informed decisions on the programmes to be implemented and the types and combinations of assistance (goods, cash transfers and/or services) to be delivered.
Course Objetives

To familiarise humanitarian practitioners and key RC/RC Movement emergency surge staff (IFRC, ICRC, NS) with the principles of market assessment and why they should be considering markets when assessing, designing and implementing emergency programmes.

To provide key RC/RC Movement emergency surge staff (IFRC, ICRC and NS) with basic knowledge of and the ability to use the RAM tool and its key steps and tools.

To increase the uptake and enable participants to use of the RAM tool into the programme cycle following a shock.
