| Description: | Who, in the household, has control over the use of certain key assets. Many interventions engage women and help to meet their immediate needs (health care provision, providing an income or food), it is at the level of control and influence where real gender equality lies and where sustainable change in the lives of beneficiaries can actually happen. This indicator aims to ascertain whether there has been any change in the control of assets at a household level, particularly examining whether there has been a change in terms of decisions over the use and liquidation of assets are whether these are made for the benefit of men and women in the household. Ensured equality of economic opportunity for all women and men, including secure right to land tenure |

| Measure Notes: | Ascertain household assets: do you have…? Check who in the household has (a) access to/ use of, (b) control of, each asset. Is very much based on a subjective assessment, which will be compared to the respondent's own background and experience, so will be very difficult to assess substantial progress. Use of the asset may be as important as control of the asset. Women, for example, may not control the cow but have access to and control over the milk. |
